Hi! My name is Mary Schannen and I used to be a stay at home mom with a desire to make
my house and surroundings beautiful. I have had no formal art training, however, through experimentation, I have taught myself how to create beautiful pieces of canvas artwork. This led to the creation of Mélange Designs http://melangeonline.com/. These pieces became so popular that they are currently sold in stores throughout Texas, Louisianna, and Oklahoma via my agent at the Dallas World Market. Locally, Mélange artwork is being sold in various retail locations including Hemispheres, Anderson's Furniture, Stacey's Furniture and Acanthus in Mckinney.

Due to the growth of the business, I have trained many artists to recreate my designs on canvas. Many of these artists have had no formal art training. Quite often, my artists were Stay at Home moms with a desire to paint and learn how to create their own artwork. Through this process, I have learned that I enjoy teaching others what I know, and it's pretty easy to learn!

Learn my secrets on how to create any Mélange piece. Through experimentation, I have developed new tricks and techniques not used by anyone else.

I will provide you with step by step instruction so you can create your version of ‘Prayers for Katrina’ as shown in these photos. I encourage you to bring your creativity and we can incorporate changes to suit your style and taste OR you can create exactly what you see.

Price -Price includes all materials (apx. $100 value) to create this piece.

4 or more students: $225 per workshop.
2-3 students: $300 per workshop
Individual session: $400

15 hour workshop. We would schedule either two Saturdays with homework in between or three days during school hours.

Bring a Friend and you will recieve a 10% discount.
